Congratulations to longtime M&O Client Ed Young who was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Illustrators at the 2016 Open Art Show on October 27, 2016. Nominees for the award must be judged to have a body of work that documents an innovative and pioneering contribution to the field of children’s book illustration, and final selection is made by artists whose work has been juried into the previous year’s show. Two awards are given annually: one posthumously and one to a living illustrator.
We are so proud that Ed was this year’s winner! The posthumous award went to Shel Silverstein.
Past winners of this prestigious honor have included Maurice Sendak, Richard Scarry, and Dr. Seuss. Great company to be in for Ed, and much-deserved for a lifetime of beautiful art and storytelling for children. Congrats!
