Where Literary Legends Are Born

THANKS A LOT, UNIVERSE By Chad Lucas Is An ALA Rainbow List Top 10 Pick!

Chad Lucas’s debut novel, a middle grade contemporary called THANKS A LOT, UNIVERSE, has been honored by no short list of organizations, including Kirkus, School Library Journal, Junior Library Guild, the New York Public Library, the Ontario Library Association, the Texas Library Association, the Cooperative Children’s Book Center, and the Association for Library Service to Children.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that THANKS A LOT, UNIVERSE has received another incredible accolade: It’s been named a Top Ten Pick by the ALA Rainbow Book List!

The American Library Association (ALA) is the oldest and largest library association in the world, founded in 1876. The Rainbow Book List, now in its 15th year, is an annual annotated bibliography consisting of quality LGBTQIA+ literature intended for readers from birth to age 18.

THANKS A LOT, UNIVERSE follows Brian, whose anxiety mounts as he tries to navigate the foster system, and Ezra, who’s dealing with the pressures of coming out—and the beautiful friendship that develops between them. It published this year with Abrams and, in addition to its stellar accolades, it’s also received praise from lauded authors Nic Stone and Janae Marks!

A heartfelt congratulations to Chad, from all of us at McIntosh & Otis! If you haven’t already read this wonderful novel, now’s the time–get your hardcover, ebook, or audiobook copy today from your local indie or these retailers: Abrams, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, IndieBound, Target.
