The New York Review of Books is releasing a 50th anniversary edition of Jean Merrill’s classic The Pushcart War (illustrated by Ronni Solbert) this September. The New York Times Book Review originally called it “An utterly captivating book.” An audio edition is also available through Recorded Books. The Elephant Who Liked to Smash Small Cars (by Jean Merrill and illustrated by Ronni Solbert) is also forthcoming with NYRB.
